Human trafficking awareness is vital for young people with foster care experience, foster parents, and grandparents, as these youth are often targeted due to instability or past trauma. Educating caregivers helps them recognize risks, build trust, and provide protection, ensuring vulnerable children and teens remain safe from exploitation and harm. 

In 2024, it is estimated that approximately 24,000 individuals fell victim to human trafficking within the United States
